Zeke Iddon auction

Guinness Record-holder's Guitar Hero axe to be auctioned for charity.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Two months ago, Zeke Iddon was just an ordinary gamer. Now, he's set to feature in the Guinness Book of World Records. His achievement? Playing a Guitar Hero game for more than 24 hours straight.

Mild insanity may have had something to do with it, but Zeke's main desire was to raise money for the National Spinal Injuries Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. He's already received plenty of donations - but now he's looking to increase the sum by auctioning off his record-breaking PlayStation 3 Guitar Hero peripheral.

The auction is open to UK residents, and is taking place at games network BeefJack.com over the next two weeks. Interested parties can bid on the guitar, which is signed and scrawled upon by Zeke himself, at http://bit.ly/guitarheroauction.

"There are lots of semi-amusing anecdotes from the event, including desperately needing the toilet for hours, spending the last four hours suffering extreme motion sickness and the batteries failing two minutes before the end," said Iddon after the event.

And Lewis Denby, executive editor of BeefJack.com, said: "We're really pleased to auctioning Zeke's guitar here at BeefJack. While we wouldn't recommend people try playing any videogame for 24 hours straight without considering the risks, everyone here is really pleased for him and his great achievement for a wonderful cause."
