XLEAGUE.TV Goes Soccer Mad!!

FIFA 08 Tournaments on all Platforms Planned

20th September 2007 (London, United Kingdom) - XLEAGUE.TV, the UK's first competitive gaming channel, on Sky Channel 279, today announced the first all platform launch for EA Sports FIFA 08

XLEAGUE.TV will run Solo Tournaments across Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Nintendo Wii platforms concurrently, starting on 28th September. The Tournament winners will receive cash prizes and get the chance to appear on XLEAGUE.TV via Televised Finals.

But the fun doesn't stop there, XLEAGUE.TV have also announced the winners of each individual platform will then qualify for the "Champions XLEAGUE" where contestants will face each other home and away, the home leg will be on their chosen platform, with aggregate scores taken at the end to determine the winner.

"The FIFA series has been so popular over the past decade we felt the need to see which platform produces the best player" said XLEAGUE.TV Channel Manager Ray Mia. "The Champions XLEAGUE is also a way for us to move competitive eSports to a whole new level, it's the best players from all the formats playing against each other, there won't be any excuses, the tournament raises the stakes as the gamers need to show they have what it takes and we can finally find out who's the best FIFA player, we are also looking at putting together a substantial prize package to the eventual Champions XLEAGUE winner."

XLEAGUE.TV is the UK's first dedicated eSports channel and fully integrated website launched in May 2007. The revolutionary channel, which broadcasts on Sky channel 279, offers a comprehensive range of services to its members including leagues and tournaments, customisable user profiles, match scheduling and club and team creation. By competing on www.xleague.tv, gamers can win the opportunity to be invited to the studio for the chance to play on television.
