XL An Overwhelming Success!

London, England. Tuesday 05th December 2006: AlienPants Ltd, a leading innovator of community and mobile solutions in Europe, and MatchBox360, a UK-based producer of game events and media content, are pleased to announce that the Matchbox360 XL LAN 2006 was a total success. The LAN event which took place on the 25th and 26th November 2006 was completely sold out one week prior to the event with 300 gamers in attendance.

"We would like to thank everyone who has supported MatchBox360 XL from the companies who helped us along the way to the dedicated gamers who made it all worthwhile. We are working hard to bring bigger and better events for the UK & European gamers, with some very exciting plans lined up for 2007." Says Chris Barnes - MatchBox360 XL Event Manager.

"To say we are pleased with the end result of XL would be an understatement." Says Luke Newcombe, AlienPants Ltd Marketing Director "We can't wait until XL 2 and neither can our gamers without whom XL wouldn't have been possible."

Hundreds of gamers from the United Kingdom and as far away as France, Portugal, Sweden and Holland travelled to the Birmingham NEC in cars, planes and trains to enjoy the wide ranging variety of the latest and greatest Xbox and Xbox 360 games.

A number of XL LAN attendees contacted the organisers of XL and expressed their enthusiasm for XL 2. Their testimonials are listed below:

Aston, Overlord of Deathbyuk.net

"The Matchbox team did an impressive job putting on an event of such size, and the overall consensus among our members is it was a fantastic experience and a quality weekend. My personal view is that by showcasing such an event, Matchbox has brought the online gaming experience to a wider audience, which can only benefit the gaming community in the long term. I have no doubt that Matchbox have ability to pull off a larger event and really bring this phenomenon to the masses, and it won't be long before the corporations stand up and take notice of the potential within the industry"

Johnny Morgan aka Pie In The Sky

"XL was a truly thrilling and exhilarating event, and has set an extremely high standard for the European gaming front. The team at Matchbox360 produced an unforgettable weekend."

Dan Stringer aka RenegadeDS

"XL was a great weekend, very tiring and emotional, and with some fine tuning could well become even bigger and greater. Unforgettable."

Danny Olivier aka Dannyooo

"Well worth it (money and time), had doubts before hand, most definitely attending next one"

Andrew Taylor aka I KrAzYkInG I

"XL was a mind-blowing event with excellent organisation, variety and professionalism. A very enjoyable weekend which in turn has raised the bar for European LANs, I will definitely be going to the next LAN!"
