Microsoft is set to sponsor the Big Day Out ski and snowboarding competition in Val D'Isere for a second year running this year, with games including Amped 2, Top Spin and Project Gotham Racing 2 being showcased at the event.

Over 7000 spectators are expected to attend the event, which runs from the 22nd to the 26th of February, and features high profile European riders who will battle it out for a â'¬20,000 prize pot.

Microsoft will be stationing the Xbox Megacruiser at the bottom of the slope, and running competitions in snowboarding title Amped 2 for a selection of prizes, with a host of other Xbox games also available to play in the Megacruiser.

Meanwhile Xbox pods featuring some of the company's most high profile titles will be scattered throughout the resort - with Amped 2 featuring heavily, unsurprisingly, but the likes of PGR2 and Top Spin also available.

This will be the eighth annual Big Day Out, with the event now established as a key date in the snowboard calendar.
