Although Microsoft has decided against holding its annual X07 event in Europe this year, it's been reported that it will still be going ahead in Canada.
According to a blog post on Canada.com the invites were sent out several weeks ago for an event taking place on August 28 in Toronto.
The invite seems to point to the usual happenings, with "Microsoft Games Studios and top-third party publishers including Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and Activision among others" apparently in attendance.
But despite the absence of a European version of X07 this year, Microsoft has already indicated to GamesIndustry.biz that a UK-specific event will be held before Christmas.
In the meantime Microsoft will be showing off lots of forthcoming releases at this year's Game Convention in Leipzig next week, so it's possible the company feels that this event will suffice for the rest of Europe this year.
