World Series Of Video Games Presented By Intel Links With McDonald's For Late Night Ticket Promotion

Mayor pronounces "Gamers' Weekend" in Dallas

DALLAS- June 12, 2007 - For the second year in a row, the World Series of Video Games, Presented by Intel (WSVG) is descending upon the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area for an exciting four-day gaming festival that will feature $90,000 in cash prizes. Area Metroplex McDonald's® restaurants have teamed up with the WSVG to bring local gamers a unique opportunity to participate in the event, scheduled for July 5-8 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine.

Beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, the first 100 customers at every local McDonald's in the DFW Metroplex will receive a free spectator pass to the WSVG Summer Championship. Tickets will be distributed while supplies last and are limited to one per customer. Additionally, a limited supply of discount admission vouchers will be distributed. There are 285 McDonald's restaurants in the region, and they are open late!

The support of McDonald's has also enabled the WSVG to extend the period for free event and tournament registration for all competitors who book hotel rooms at the Gaylord Resort between now and Monday, June 18th, using the promotional code "WSVG".

"The World Series of Video Games, Presented by Intel is incredibly excited to be working with McDonald's," said Matthew Ringel, President of the World Series of Video Games. "Whether playing with their friends in a huge gaming competition or eating at McDonald's restaurants, gamers like going long into the night, and this program recognizes the best of both."

While Dallas has long been home to exciting gaming events, the WSVG Summer Championship has just secured a new honor for gamers across the region. Dallas Mayor Laura Miller on behalf of the Dallas City Council has just designated July 5-8 as "Gamers' Weekend" in Dallas! Her special proclamation specifically recognized the World Series of Video Games "for providing an exciting forum for video game enthusiasts in our Dallas metropolitan area."

The WSVG gaming circuit is scheduled to visit six cities this year and began on May 1, in China, with a record attendance of more than 100,000 attendees. The circuit is scheduled to end in Sweden on November 29.

This year, the World Series of Video Games, Presented by Intel visits venues around the globe, offers a new circuit structure with more than $750,000 in cash prizes, and features several new game titles never before offered in the world's top gaming competitions.
