World Series Of Video Games Presented By Intel Adds Canada Date To 2007 Circuit

Fan Expo Canada to Host WSVG August 24-26 at MetroToronto Convention Center

New York, NY July 12, 2007 - The World Series of Video Games Presented by Intel (WSVG), today announced that Fan Expo Canada at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, August 24-26, has been added to the competitive circuit for the 2007 season. With more than $75,000 in cash prizes, the Canada event will feature competitions on games including Blizzard Entertainment®'s "World of Warcraft®: The Burning Crusade,T" Activision's "Guitar Hero IIT" and "Quake 4T." Additional games may be added in the coming days. The event will comprise the biggest video game tournament ever to appear in Canada, and will serve as an additional stop where competitors can earn points on the World Series of Video Games international circuit. Open to all nationalities, registration for the tournament is immediately available at www.thewsvg.com.

The Fan Expo will welcome over 50,000 fans over the course of three days. Events taking place during Canada Fan Expo include the Canadian National Comic Book Expo, CNAnime, SFX Science Fiction Expo, Festival of Fear Horror Expo and GX-the Canadian National Gaming Expo. The World Cyber Games will also be present, holding their Canadian Qualifiers during the Expo. In addition to many artists from the worlds of comics and anime, dozens of celebrities will be on hand for autograph signings for the event, including Hayden Christensen (Star Wars), Adam West (Batman), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek) and the Red vs. Blue creative team.

"The World Series of Video Games, Presented by Intel will be the biggest video game event to hit Canada, thanks to a terrific partnership with Intel Canada and Fan Expo" said Matthew Ringel, commissioner of the World Series of Video Games. "After we announced an October event at Los Angeles eForAll, we very much wanted to schedule an event in late summer hitting the eastern region of North America. We are delighted that our inaugural event in Canada will be among the biggest on our video game circuit and, indeed, in all competitive gaming this year."

The 2007 World Series of Video Games, Presented by Intel, kicked off its second season with a record breaking four-day event in China in May that drew more than 100,000 attendees. This was followed by events in Louisville, Kentucky in June and Dallas, Texas in July. Television coverage of the 2007 series will begin airing on CBS Sports beginning July 29th, at 12pm ET.
