World of Warcraft Expansion Pack appearing at BlizzCon

The subject of intense rumour and speculation since its announcement in June, Blizzard Entertainment's first expansion pack for World of Warcraft is to be publicly unveiled in October.

World of Warcraft is a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) with a current subscriber base of around 4 million users worldwide. Although the company has yet to reveal any firm details regarding the content or gaming additions of the expansion pack, Blizzard Entertainment did confirmed its appearance at the first annual expo, BlizzCon.

Shane Dabiri, lead producer on WoW announced the news on the company's website by stating simply "I'm very happy to announce that we'll have the first public showing of the expansion for World of Warcraft at BlizzCon. Attendees will be able to view the work that is going into the project and hear some of the eagerly awaited details."

The announcement was part of a regularly updated World of Warcraft Battle Plan which details changes, additions and the resolution of any issues within the WoW community.

To be held on October 28th-29th at the Anaheim Convention Centre, California, BlizzCon is a two day expo dedicated to Blizzard games including World of Warcraft. Attendees will be invited to take part in a range of competitions, tournaments and gaming activities in addition to learning more about future projects and additions to Blizzard Entertainment's current games.
