WonderPhone launches Crash Racing for mobiles

Latest title extends relationship with Vivendi Universal Games

Paris-based mobile content provider WonderPhone has announced the launch of Crash Racing, which stars iconic videogame character Crash Bandicoot and extends the company's long-standing relationship with Vivendi Universal Games.

Capitalising on the global success of the Crash Bandicoot franchise, which has sold over 35 million units worldwide to date, Crash Racing will be the third dedicated mobile game distributed by WonderPhone, following the million download successes of Crash Nitro Kart and Crash Twinsanity.

Inspired by and complimenting the release of VUG's latest console title, Crash Tag Team Racing, the mobile game will feature four playable characters - each with their own unique vehicle, two specific modes of play, three different environments and nine tournament races.

In a new addition to the gameplay mechanic, players will be able to take advantage of twelve different fusion possibilities; merging two vehicles together on-the-fly to create a powerful turret-equipped vehicle that can clear the road ahead of opponents and obstacles.

Available through WonderPhone's global network that spans some 40 countries and 70 mobile operators, an advanced 3D version will be available for selected compatible handsets and all versions will feature game save options as standard.

Crash Racing is the eighth VUG game to be distributed by WonderPhone since the launch of Crash Nitro Kart in 2004. The company has successfully released games based on Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Leisure Suit Larry, SWAT and Empire Earth franchises, achieving more than 2 million downloads to date.
