Women In Games International has announced the date and venue for the latest in its series of conferences, which will be hosted by Microsoft in Redmond, Washington this September.

Scheduled to take place between 1-7pm on Saturday September 16th, the Seattle conference will take place at Microsoft's HQ, at the RedWest Campus.

Focusing on the issues of establishing equilibrium in both working and home life, the conference is entitled "The Balancing Act: Game Industry Careers and Quality of Life".

Attendees will be presented with an opening keynote address from Bonnie Ross, Microsoft Game Studios' director of production, titled "Managing Insanity: How to be Director of Production for one of the largest publishing teams in the game industry and also have a life."

Following the keynote, the conference will offer a range of panel discussions and roundtable events, followed by a post-conference networking reception sponsored by Microsoft Game Studios.

Panel topics include: Quality of Life: Practical Problem-Solving, The Counsellor is In: Expert Advice on Game Careers, Quality of Life - War Stories from the Trenches (and How We Solved Them), Breaking In: How to Acquire The Skills and Get That First Job, and many more.

"Quality of life is an issue that has challenged many people in the game industry. This conference is an opportunity for local industry leaders and game creators to brainstorm together on how to improve quality of life for everyone," Bonnie Ross commented.
