Winx Club line-up

DancingStage Winx Club for Wii and Winx Club Secret Diary for DS arriving next year.

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced two new games based on the popular Winx Club cartoons, including a Winx-themed Wii version of the publisher’s best-selling DancingStage franchise and a completely new product for Nintendo DS, which has been overseen by Konami’s European Product Planning Department.

With interest in Winx Club growing at a phenomenal rate with the advent of the first movie, Konami’s new games are certain to appeal to the series’ many, many fans. DancingStage Winx Club (Provisional Title) for Wii combines the fast-placed movement-based gameplay of Konami’s DancingStage HOTTEST PARTY with characters, settings and songs from the Winx Club universe. Using a special dance mat controller, players are invited to match a series of onscreen arrows with the corresponding foot movements, while the Wii controllers are used to match necessary arm movements. Thus, as the various Winx-related tracks play, characters from the show appear on screen.

As players progress through DancingStage Winx Club, they are set tasks of attaining a certain point quota to transform the player’s chosen Winx character into their Enchantix alter ego. Players can also dress their character in a number of fashion ranges, while game modes include Workout and Quest modes.

Winx Club Secret Diary 2009 for Nintendo DS offers a very different spin on the Winx Club world, and takes the form of a comprehensive diary/personal organiser. The user holds the DS vertically like a book, and Winx Club Secret Diary 2009 uses a simple but effective menu system which allows the user to store key dates, send/receive text messages, speak with friends via Wi-Fi and play Winx-themed sub-games together. The diary is completely customisable, allowing users to personalise it to their individual taste, with different colour schemes, avatars and backdrops available.

Personal information and that of friends can be stored, while horoscopes, personality tests, alarms, calculators, clocks can be summoned. Winx Club Secret Diary 2009 also features a wealth of information on all your favourite Winx characters, and can be password-protected to keep your secrets absolutely secret!

DancingStage Winx Club (Provisional Title), will be released for Wii in Q1, 2009. Winx Club Secret Diary 2009 will be released for Nintendo DS in Q4, 2008. For more information, please contact Steve Merrett at Voltage PR on 020 7903 5122 or email steve@voltagepr.com.
