Warcraft film finds director in Source Code

Duncan Jones will helm the Blizzard adaptation

Source Code and Moon director Duncan Jones will be directing Legendary Pictures' adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft, according to a story by The Hollywood Reporter. The story was later confirmed with a message on the official World of Warcraft Twitter account.

Warcraft will be Jones' most expensive film to date, with Source Code previously occupying the top spot with a $35 million budget. Warcraft's budget is expected to exceed $100 million.

The film is being written by Blood Diamond and X-PAX writer Charles Leavitt and Legendary is aiming for a fall 2013 start with an eventual release in 2015. Blizzard is a key part of the production, with Blizzard senior vice president Chris Metzen acting as a co-producer. Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce alongside Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner.
