Wakfu

Roubaix, France – January 21, 2011 – Wakfu is the next chapter of the story after the DOFUS game, which is currently rated amongst the top 5 online games in Europe. Its story takes place 1000 years after the beginning of the DOFUS era.

A new phase of the closed beta test will begin on the 31 ^st of January. It is reserved for those players in possession of an Ankama account and whose account has already been activated to take part in the previous Wakfu closed beta. This version represents a major step in the game’s development and constitutes more than a simple update of the previous version.

Wakfu’s release date will be announced at the French publisher’s next official event:

Ankama Convention #6. The convention will take place on March 5-6, 2011 at Lille Grand Palais.

WHAT IS THE WAKFU MMO?

WAKFU is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG), which comes to life in a fantasy universe created by Ankama. Just like its big brother, DOFUS, WAKFU transports you to a world in which magic and humor are omnipresent.

WAKFU – THE STORY

A lot can happen over the years, and the World of Twelve has undergone more than its fair share of disruption since the demise of the DOFUS era.

Ogrest, a titanic ogre, managed the impossible: he reunited the six primordial Dofus! Unfortunately for him, he fell victim to his own success… Beside himself with grief, and giving free reign to his destructive power, Ogrest let his fury rain down on the World. Legends tell the story of a cosmic battle between the gods, the ensuing floods and the birth of a titan.

When the player begins their adventure in WAKFU, most of the World is still engulfed by the water. Vast islands and multiple archipelagos bob around in a unique ocean. But history is still being written, and the World is beginning to think it’s about time some heroes showed up! About ANKAMA Group
