VSC Consulting announces Young Professional of the Year nominee

Wireless PR firm's founder and director nominated for PR Week award

VSC Consulting, PR experts in the wireless technology, digital entertainment, video gaming and ethnic marketing sectors, announces the nomination of Vijay S. Chattha for PR Week's 2005 Young Professional of the Year award.

The annual award, which is open to employees who entered the profession no earlier than November 1st, 2001, honours the individual who represents the best of PR each year. Nominees are judged on career history and professional qualifications, including evidence of outstanding achievement in handling clients or senior-level staff, developing PR strategy, business savvy, creativity, knowledge of PR tactics, and contribution to business objectives.

VSC was established in 2002, and under Chattha's leadership, has developed a strong base of South Asian-American clients that operate in North America and abroad. The firm deals with a range of high-profile clients in the wireless and gaming sectors, including Sennari Entertainment, Metreon's Walk of Game, Moderati, eMbience, Octane Technologies, and wireless marketing firm ipsh! Chattha will be the first South Asian-American to be nominated for the prestigious PR Week award.

Colleague Robert Anton Patterson nominated Chattha, stating: "Vijay is worthy of the award because he has led our firm to over 110 percent annual revenue growth and has become the go-to PR Exec in emerging markets such as wireless and gaming."

The youngest director of a PR agency that serves a division of the world's largest advertising group, Omnicom, and a division of Sony Corporation, Chattha is also an inspiration to America's younger generation. He regularly speaks at events like the Young Entrepreneur's Forum at the Wharton School of Business, and has created a series of lectures at Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Chattha also serves with three other VSC clients, on the board of Project Ahimsa, which aims to empower youth through music; providing music education resources and instruments to over 20,000 children in India and the US.
