LOS ANGELES - June 20, 2007 - Vivendi Games Mobile, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced that it is extending its popular "Surviving High School" franchise with its upcoming Surviving Hollywood game. Surviving Hollywood plays on the glitz and glamour of the Hollywood entertainment industry and gives mobile subscribers the opportunity to fulfill their celebrity aspirations by overcoming the daily grind of Tinseltown in search of their big break. The story-based simulation adventure game will be available on mobile phones throughout North America in July.
"The success of Surviving High School has inspired us to go bigger and better with this version of the 'Surviving' franchise and for many you can't get any bigger than Hollywood," said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile. "Every week, Surviving Hollywood will bring a new dose of life in the celebrity capital of the world to aspiring 'A-listers' around the country, allowing them to try their hand at what it takes to become a star."
Surviving Hollywood, developed by Vivendi Games Mobile's award-wining Centerscore Studio, challenges players to make decisions centered on Hollywood-centric scenarios and storylines. Players start out as waiters and assistants and must work their way up the food chain to realize the ultimate dream of stardom. Throughout the game players must juggle auditions, network at the hippest nightclubs and manage to maintain jobs that pay the rent. The game's outcome is dictated by the choices players make and the storylines are continually refreshed via weekly "update packs" that can be downloaded directly to the handset.
"Surviving Hollywood takes our popular blend of mobile-friendly gameplay and fresh episodic content to the next level," said Oliver Miao, general manager of Vivendi Games Mobile's Centerscore Studio. "In developing this title we were committed to delivering a truly engaging and enjoyable experience that outshines even the brightest Hollywood star."
