UK plays host to a new serious games event

The UK is set to host a new serious games event this summer, thanks to a new initiative by UK Trade and Investment, Coventry University and Advantage West Midlands.

Scheduled to run from the 5th-6th June at the International Convention Centre in the heart of Birmingham, the International Serious Games Event (IGSE) has been designed to bring together developers and publishers from within Europe and around the globe, facilitating open discussion and exchange of ideas and issues, as well as offering a forum for networking and business meetings for professionals with a vested interest in the serious games market.

The event, which is entirely separate from CMP Group's US-based Serious Games Summit, will include a series of panel discussions, presentations and technology demonstrations, plenary sessions looking at the development of serious games from a research and academic perspective, and insight from an industry and technological perspective.

Registration is now open, and there is an early bird discount for delegates registering before April 10th. More information can be found by visiting the official IGSE website.
