UCI BMX rights

Secured by Interactive Licensing Management, with official game on the way.

PRESS RELEASE

COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE

Date: 22 September 2009

Interactive Licensing Management has agreed to a deal with Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to exclusively represent interactive entertainment rights for UCI BMX events including the World Championships and BMX Supercross World Cup. The deal will include all current and future interactive platforms and the aim of the collaboration is to include many of the sport’s top riders as well as track designs and approved images from UCI events.

“We are delighted to be working with UCI. The development of BMX is underlined by the expanding TV coverage and IOC recognition as an Olympic event. This is thanks to the grass roots development and commitment of the governing body and this is the perfect time for the sport to enter the interactive arena in an Official capacity.” Said David Colley, Managing Director of Interactive Licensing Management Ltd.

“The UCI are very excited about the idea of having an official UCI BMX video game. I believe BMX racing and especially the BMX Supercross World Cup format will transfer well in a video game format“ said Johan Lindstrom, BMX Sports Co-Ordinator of Union Cycliste Internationale

“"Technology is now part of everyday life and is one of the main sources to promote businesses, jobs and sports etc. Having a video game for BMX will lift the profile of our sport and hopefully increase the number of riders and also the number of followers." says Sarah Walker (New Zealand) 2009 UCI BMX Elite Women World Champion.

“ I’m super pumped of the idea of seeing myself in a video game. I play a lot of video games and BMX Supercross will most definitely be great as a video game“ said Mike Day (USA) Silver medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games.
