Cologne, 13. August 2009 – Turtle Entertainment, the operator of the Electronic Sports League (ESL), presents the newest developmen ts about electronic sports to journalists at gamescom. The press conference takes place on Wednesday, August 19, from 11 to 12 am on the stage of the ESL Intel ASUS gamezone (Hall 9, Stand C061a). The new market-leading-fair gamescom celebrates their premiere on the August 19-23 in Cologne. The highlights in the ESL Intel ASUS gamezone will be the analysis of the ESL study, the release of the desktop application ESL Wire, the start of the fourth season of the Intel Extreme Masters as well as the cooperation between ESL Sports and the Baske tball Bundesliga (BBL) presented.

Highlights at the ESL Intel ASUS gamezone

The ESL provides the visitors of the ESL Intel ASUS gamezone with top class eSports: highlights, such as the pre-season final of the ESL Sports Online-Football Bundesliga (15.000 Euro), die European Nations Championship of eSports (ENC) with 25.000 Euro prize money, the Counter-Strike female final of the ESL Major Series (4.000 Euro), the start of the Intel Extreme Masters IV (500.000 US-Dollar) as well as the start of the ESL Pro Series, the premiere league for computer games (130.000 Euro).

ESL Study

Every year the ESL asks over 80,000 members about their favorite games and the user behavior of media and is therewith one of the biggest youth-studies in Germany. The interesting results will be represented by Ibrahim Mazari, director public relations of Turtle Entertainment.

Release ESL Wire

The desktop application unites every important program features for the ultimate eSports-adventure. The software will be released by Turtle Entertainment after gamescom but it will be presented at the press conference by chief developer Marco Kuethen.

Intel Extreme Masters IV

The global league of eSports champions goes into the fourth season with an overall prize purse of 500.000 US-Dollars. Project manager Michal „Carmac“ Blicharz of Turtle Entertainment presents the most important innovations and stops on the way to the crown of eSports.

Cooperation between ESL Sports and BBL

ESL Sports is the connector between electronic and classic sports. The cooperation with the BBL clarifies this connection and is the first official eSports-league of a classic Sport.
