Turn Up And Play At i28

Tuesday 22nd August, London - Multiplay are excited to announce that our i28 LAN gaming event is taking place this weekend from Friday 25th August to Monday 28th August 2006. i28 is the largest LAN event in the UK and will see over 1,100 gamers descend on Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire for 81 hours of gaming, tournaments and special guests.

The World Cyber Games - the largest gaming tournament in the world - sees its UK finals at i28, with places in the UK team up for grabs. Players compete in one of five games to earn a place in the national side which will be flown to Monza, Italy in October for the grand final and a chance to win some immense prizes. The World Cyber Games is in conjunction with Samsung who will be taking the UK team to the Grand Finals.

At i28 anyone can turn up and play in the World Cyber Games without having to be a full participant to the event. Simply bringing yourself and your skill will be enough and before you know it you could be flying off to Italy! By attending i28 as a spectator you can also watch all of our finals and check out our extensive exhibitor area.

The Samsung Arena is host to all of the finals for i28, with professional sound and lighting making our big stage setup perfect for spectators. Giant screens and full commentary are provided for all our finals which include the EA BF2 Cup, the Multiplay CS: Source Cup and all of the WCG finals.

Our EA BF2 Cup boasts the biggest prize fund of £5,000 with our enormous 64-clan CS: Source tournament has a grand prize of £1,000.

To "turn up and play" in the World Cyber Games you should check our event schedule for when your chosen game is running and what times you need to be available. We recommend that players stay for the whole weekend to be sure of being there for any finals you may be in. Our WCG games are Dead or Alive 4 and Project Gotham Racing 3 on the Xbox 360, Counter-Strike: 1.6, Fifa 2006 and Dawn of War: Winter Assault on the PC.

i28 starts at 9am on Friday 25th August and finishes at 6pm on Monday 28th. Free camping and shower facilities are available to all guests and spectator entry is only £5 per day, which is required to gain entry to i28. A late bar and food vendors are all on site and are open every day.
