TurboGrafx Gamebox

Available at the App Store now, complete with World Sports Competition for free.

SAN MATEO , Calif. – Dec. 20, 2010 – Fans of classic gaming can now get their fix on their iPhone or iPod Touch with TurboGrafx-16 Gamebox from Hudson Entertainment! The collection is now available in the App Store and comes with a free game, “World Sports Competition.”  Once users have downloaded the app, they will be able to purchase 15 games which will be available for $2.99 each.  More classic games will be released moving forward, and there will even be a trial game each day from the Hudson TurboGrafx library which gamers can check out for up to 3 minutes for free.

The original TurboGrafx-16 video game console was developed by HUDSON SOFT and NEC.  It was released to major popularity in Japan in 1987, making its way to North America in 1989.  With an 8-bit CPU and dual 16-bit GPU the console was capable of displaying 482 colors at once.  TurboGrafx-16 was the first console to have an optional CD module, which allowed for more storage and affordable costs.
