Trucks & Skulls

Hailed as "Best Action Game" in the 2010 Best App Ever Awards.

Carlsbad, CA -- 1 Februrary 2011: Appy Entertainment's Trucks and Skulls -- the high-octane physics puzzler where you smash nitro-burning monster trucks into piles of laughing skulls -- has won the iPhone category in Best Action Game for the 2010 Best App Ever Awards at Macworld in San Francisco. The iPad version of the game placed in the same category, and Trucks and Skulls also scored podium positions for Best Arcade Game.

"The Best App Ever Awards can be thought of as a People's Choice type awards for apps," said Jeff Scott of 148Apps. "The Best App Ever Awards are a real barometer of what apps users like the most. Winning a category is a great indication of overall app popularity."

Selected by Apple as their iPhone Game of the Week and iPad App of the Week in November, Trucks and Skulls has gone on to become the fastest-selling app in the history of two-year-old Appy Entertainment. The game has already received substantial popular and critical acclaim, and was named IGN's iPhone Game of the Month.

Appy Entertainment has responded to the success of Trucks and Skulls with continuous support in the form of new levels, episodes, and mechanics. "Four major free updates have been released for Trucks and Skulls ," said Appy Chief Executive Officer Chris Ulm. "We've expanded the original game with new episodes, sixty-eight new levels, and new game mechanics including demon skulls, bonus bombs, skull fume cans, and hinged pieces that change up gameplay and create a whole new category of puzzle for our players. Plus, everything we add is also available in our iPad level editor, offering unlimited replayability."

The pending release of version 1.5 of Trucks and Skulls will push the game to over 200 levels, and will enhance the game's social connectivity. The next version of the game will make it even easier for fans to share their custom levels directly with Appy, where they may be used in official updates. "We hope to include fan-created levels in our Level of the Week program," Appy Brand Director Paul O'Connor explained. "We have already distributed half-a-dozen free, new levels directly to thousands of players who have joined our online club."

Continuous support is part of the new landscape of entertainment, says Ulm. "It's not enough to just publish a game any more -- our fans deserve more," Ulm said. " Trucks and Skulls debuted with more levels than many games, but our mission is to expand Trucks and Skulls until it becomes the longest, most engaging, and most explosive game in the genre. The iPhone version of Trucks and Skulls is still .99, and since release our players have been able to enjoy hours of continuously growing gameplay. We won't rest until Trucks and Skulls is the biggest and the best game in the App Store."
