Online publisher selected as one of StartUpHire's top ten fastest growing startups in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Redwood City, Calif. – July 30, 2009 – Trion World Network Inc. (Trion), the publisher and developer of server-based online games and original entertainment for the connected world, has been selected as one of the top ten fastest growing startups in the San Francisco Bay Area by StartUpHire, the largest online database of jobs at VC-backed companies. Trion, the only game publisher listed, has grown steadily since its founding in 2006, raising more than $100 million in funding, creating a world-class team, building a revolutionary server-based games platform and announcing three massively multiplayer games in less than three years.

Trion‘s first massively multiplayer online game (MMOG), Heroes of Telara™ ( www.heroesoftelara.com) was recently revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. Trion has two other announced MMO games in development: a real-time strategy MMO developed in partnership with renowned game developer Petroglyph Studios, and a revolutionary new MMO action roleplaying game, being co-developed to launch in conjunction with a new television series on the Syfy channel. All three games will make use of the groundbreaking Trion Platform, which utilizes server-based systems to create live, dynamic game experiences.
According to StartUpHire, their list of top VC-backed companies, which included Facebook and LinkedIn, is comprised of the companies “which are most actively expanding in today's recessionary climate... suggesting strong business models and/or deep conviction that the future is promising.”
