Trinigy escorts developers into multi-core era

Vision Engine 6.0 to support an arbitrary number of CPU cores – Launch demo for Intel's new quad-core processor

Eningen/Germany, November 15th, 2006: Trinigy, a market leading company in the sector of 3D game engines, today announced their cooperation with Intel regarding the official launch of the new Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad Core processor.

The impressive potential of Intel's next-generation processor - formerly known under the codename Kentsfield - will be showcased with a technology demo based on Trinigy's Vision Engine 6.0 all over the world. The demo features a large amount of particles which physically correctly interact with the geometry in a complex 3D scenario.

Vision 6.0 offers a compelling multithreading architecture that has been optimised to take full advantage of state-of-the-art multi-core systems - including but not limited to currently available quad-core systems. Developers working with the Vision Engine 6.0 are provided with a versatile threading framework which enables them to support an arbitrary number of CPU cores on today's and tomorrow's PC and console platforms very easily.

"We are impressed with Trinigy's tech demo for Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad Core - the frame rate scales linearly with the number of CPU cores", explains Eric Reinhart, Application Engineer at Intel.

"Thus, developers are able to fully utilize all available cores in order to create previously unseen amounts of detail."

Trinigy regard efficient multi-core support as a key feature of current and next-generation video games. "We are proud to support Intel in the launch of the newest generation of CPUs", explains Dag Frommhold, Managing Partner at Trinigy. "The new Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad Core provides

enormous processing power. With the upcoming Vision Engine 6.0, game developers will have an ideal tool to fully exploit this power in order to create the next generation of computer games."
