THQ Wireless announces NBA Slam

Officially licensed and supported by the NBA

THQ Wireless has announced the imminent launch of its latest sporting title for mobile phones, as the officially licensed NBA Slam heads to UK mobile phones this month.

The mobile game pits players against some of the best and wildest basket scorers in the professional sport today, including Vince Carter, LeBron James, Jason Richardson and Josh Smith. If the new crowd are not what gamers are looking for, there's also a host of 'old school' players to discover, including slam-dunk champions Larry Nance and Dominick Wilkins.

The unlockable 'legends' of the game perfectly compliment the huge selection of current players from all 30 NBA pro teams, offering a little something for everyone as players perfect the skills with their favourite NBA stars.

Five distinct gameplay modes are available, including Quick Play, Exhibition, Tournament, Practice and Create-a-player, and a unique Dunk Booster meter allows players to build up the skills to take slam-dunks to an entirely new level. Using a series of button-press combinations, players can master a massive selection of gravity defying dunks, unlocking more intricate and impressive moves through progression in the game.

THQ is also including a Global leaderboard for the title, giving every gamer the opportunity to claim bragging rights for the highest scores for those crowd-pleasing dunks.

NBA Slam will be available for a series of Java-enabled handsets, and is scheduled for release in the UK later this month.
