THQ Wireless and Winning Moves UK Ltd have teamed up to bring Top Trumps to JAVA enabled phones for a unique game-play experience. Major global operators are expected to carry the following four launch games from November 2005:
- Star Wars - scheduled to launch first, this game is packed full of your favorite Star Wars characters allowing you to battle it out between Jedi and The Republic!
- MotoGP - Not even Valentino Rossi wins every time in this great new MotoGP title. Compare legends of the past with today's stars and you could be in pole position.
- Football Legends - Pele never competed against Gazza...until now! If you like football, you'll LOVE Top Trumps Mobile Football Legends which includes 30 of the World's greatest Footballers from Zico to Zidane and Romario to Rooney.
- Gumball 3000 Supercars - the greatest, fastest, most powerful cars make up this fantastic game... but will you have the Gumball Factor?
Collectable, Competitive and Compulsive, Top Trumps for your mobile phone is designed for fast and enjoyable fun. Like all the very best games, Top Trumps is very simple with amazingly wide appeal. The game's premise is that each card has a picture of its character or vehicle, along with statistics on the relevant topic such as Jedi powers, top speed, acceleration and International Goals! Players pick one statistic to compare with the other player's card; the player with the highest value card wins and keeps the card. The winner chooses the category in the next round. The player with all the cards at the end is the winner!
As competition is the essence of Top Trumps, multi-player gaming is a key part of the mobile versions. The built-in wireless connectivity of Bluetooth-enabled handsets, lends itself to the multi-player options, where two players can play against each other via a Bluetooth connection. Also up to four players can play on the same phone, passing the phone to the player whose turn it is next.
Top Trumps Mobile will capture the look and feel of the established and highly recognizable card game range while building on its success with the addition of the new Advanced Mode. CLASSIC MODE starts with 15 cards per player with ten minutes to complete the game. The quicker you win the game, the higher you score. ADVANCED MODE has ten levels to challenge, each needing you to win more cards in only two minutes per level! Quick players are rewarded as any time left is carried over to the following round. This mode also has three lifelines: Swap to change the current card, Sneak to see the opponent's card for five seconds and Super TT to win a round immediately! Extra excitement is added with a Gamble Round where you can win or lose a 15 second time-bonus.
