THQ to distribute Codemasters titles in U.S.

DiRT 3, Operation Flashpoint, Bodycount, and F1 2011 coming via THQ Partners

Codemasters has signed a four game distribution deal with THQ, that will see DiRT 3, Operation Flashpoint: Red River, Bodycount, and F1 2011 released in North America.

The deal will come via the THQ Partners program, specifically set up to offer retail and digital distribution deals to other developers and publishers.

DiRT 3 has already been released globally, while Operation Flashpoint: Red River was released in Europe in April and is due for released in North America on June 7. Bodycount is scheduled for release this August in Europe and F1 2011 in September.

Despite its own attempts to maintain a U.S. presence Codemasters has always relied on distribution deals with established U.S. publishers, including Warner Bros. and Majesco, with partnerships commonly signed for a fixed number of titles.

"Bringing together THQ's world-class publishing and Codemasters' highly acclaimed titles is a win-win situation for both companies," said Tim Walsh, vice president of THQ Partners. "Our goal is to offer Codemasters a custom distribution solution so they can outsource the functions they don't need to own."

"The THQ Partners initiative truly resonated with us," said Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters. "THQ stands as a publishing force in North America and provides us the mindshare, commitment and resources of their organisation to successfully drive Codemasters products in this very important market."
