Thomas and the Magical Words a Finalist in the 2006 Independent Games Festival

December 22, 2005 - Thomas and the Magical Words, a fun and educational game developed by ViquaSoft Co., Ltd., has been chosen as a finalist in the 2006 Independent Games Festival held by the CMP Game Group.
The Independent Games Festival (http://www.igf.com) is an annual competition held to encourage innovation in game development and to recognize the best independent game developers. From a record-breaking total of 118 games that were entered into the competition, "Thomas and the Magical Words" was chosen as one of the 5 finalists in the "Innovation in Visual Arts" category.

In Thomas and the Magical Words, players must help the young wizard Thomas in his magical adventure by creating words to form paths for him. The game encourages creating extremely long words and recognizes over 200,000 words.
In addition to being a game suited for the whole family, Thomas and the Magical Words is also highly educational. With the inclusion of a dictionary and a "guess-the-word-from-its-meaning" mini-game, players will be able to expand their vocabulary and have fun at the same time.
Scrabble players will also be pleased to find that the game's dictionary is based on words valid in Scrabble, thus making Thomas and the Magical words an ideal game to practice and expand their Scrabble vocabulary.
