Career Lounge

In addition to lectures and panels, TGC 2010 will feature an Expo and a Career Lounge with roundtable discussions with local professionals. This year's Career Lounge will offer attendees the opportunity to meet professionals in the gaming, design, immersive learning/eLearning and CGI animation industries and hear how they navigated the frequently shifting landscape of this cutting-edge industry.

Each industry professional will host a 45-minute session to discuss what it took to get where they are, how they prepared for interviews, a day in the life at work or how they started their own companies.

"We wanted to make this year's Career Lounge informal and collaborative," said Troy Knight, TGC Serious Games Programming Director and Managing Director for Design and Gaming at Vaco Design. "Using an open floor, roundtable format we'll be able to give students and professionals the opportunity to meet experts representing several of the industry's leading developers, publishers and innovators."

Also in the Career Lounge, attendees will have direct access to local companies currently hiring and the ability to apply electronically for posted positions through on-site computer kiosks. Attendees are encouraged to bring electronic files of their resumes for posting.

For those interested in receiving a critique of their work, a demo kiosk will be set up to review portfolios via the web, disk or drive.
