Tetris tops UK mobile phone game charts

iFone's mobile version of Tetris was the most downloaded Java game for mobile handsets in the UK during the month of July, according to the latest figures to be published by ELSPA.

Another classic title, Namco's Pacman, was at number two in the chart, while Iomo's Pub Pool was at number three - ahead of another "Pub" game from the company, Pub Darts, which came in at number seven.

There was also space in the rankings for a number of games based on major console franchises of the moment, with Gameloft's version of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow at number five, AMS' Colin McRae Rally 2004 at number six, and Sorent's Driv3r at number nine.

The charts are compiled by UK publisher body ELSPA using data from the four largest networks in the UK - O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone.
