Terrible Lizard signing

Fledgling developer joins TIGA.

August 25, 2009

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Terrible Lizard Productions as its newest member.

Terrible Lizard Productions is an independent production company of high quality video and computer games.

The company was launched in May 2009 with the specific purpose of financing and producing video and computer games for genres and segments of the global interactive entertainment mass market that have to date been under exploited by traditional game developers and publishers.

Steve Hickman, Owner and Executive Producer at Terrible Lizard Productions, stated: “Terrible Lizard was founded to produce AAA games based on innovative concepts that will appeal to segments of the market that traditional game companies have struggled to reach. We achieve this by raising production finance from industry independent sources, which allows us to maintain creative control of our projects throughout the production lifecycle.”

On joining TIGA Hickman added: “We have been very impressed by TIGA’s effective lobbying of the Government for appropriate recognition of the games industry’s value to the UK economy.

The momentum achieved towards tax credits for games development is impressive and we believe this to be essential if the UK games industry is to remain competitive on a global stage.”

Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO stated: “Terrible Lizard Productions is an innovative company which is producing original games for the mass market consumer. The company is a great example of the creative, exciting industry we have here in the UK. We would like to welcome Terrible Lizard Productions to TIGA.”
