Telcogames and Codemasters launch Captain Dynamo

Superhero returns on Symbian mobiles

Symbian specialists Telcogames and Codemasters Mobile have announced the end of retirement for one of the long lost superheroes of the gaming world, Captain Dynamo.

Squeezing back into his figure-hugging costume one more time, Captain Dynamo has been specifically recreated for the Symbian market as he sets off on another adventure and attempts to rescue the world's diamonds from the evil Austin Van Flyswatter.

Based on the original Codemasters home computer game, Captain Dynamo features twelve levels plagued with traps, pitfalls, deadly enemies and hidden snares. One touch of the enemy means its death for Dynamo, making precision timing and unshakable conviction the order of the day.

Nicolas Hamel, the head of development for Telcogames, commented: "Symbian games show the true potential of mobile gaming. They allow developers to really push the handset and create an experience which is often simply not possible using Java or any of the other more common technologies. I always enjoyed playing the original Captain Dynamo and it was incredibly satisfying to bring him to mobile in a way which keeps all of the essential components of the game and makes it accessible and playable for mobile owners. It's pretty cool."

Developed by Telcogames' recently acquired internal development team, Magic Productions, the mobile version of Captain Dynamo is said to recapture the look, feel, and classic retro gaming music of the original, bringing an old friend back to those who played the original and introducing a new hero to millions more.

Matt Davies, the Director of Codemasters Mobile, said: "Captain Dynamo is an often overlooked classic from Codemasters extensive back catalogue. However, it's an excellent addition to our line-up of Smartphone games."

Compatible with a wide range of Symbian handsets, Captain Dynamo will be made available through mobile portals, network operators and various sales channels worldwide, and can also be purchased directly from Handango.com.
