Technology Retailer Show takes market by storm!

19 April 2005

Last week saw the Technology Retailer Show (TRS) make its debut at the NEC, Birmingham. The only dedicated exhibition for PC, games and consumer electronic retailers, TRS featured an exhibition of around 50 vendors and played host to numerous new product launches and announcements.

Highlights included:

  • DPS (UK), national distributor of Digital Photo Kiosks for retail environments, demonstrated the new Mitsubishi DPS Kiosk to independent and multiple photo, PC and mobile phone retailers.
  • Disruptive Technology Channels, a UK-based distributor of consumer electronics products and owner of PodGearTM brand of iPodTM accessories, showed PodGear essentials range along with new additions from the mobile speaker range, the PocketPartyTM, PocketParty ShuffleTM and ShuffleStationTM.
  • Exspect showcased its successful range of quality products to protect MP3 players, digital cameras, CDs, DVDs and Laptops.
  • Loc8tor Ltd launched Loc8tor which is a device that stops you losing everything from keys & glasses to children, & can even stop you mislaying things in the first place.
  • Pinnacle Systems showed the latest digital home products with live demonstrations of ShowCenter 200 and PCTV 200e on the stand throughout the show.
  • RTI UK Ltd showed the new ECO SENIOR - High Performance Single Operation Disc Repair System.
  • SpectraVideo Plc showed a new range of headsets including bass vibration and noise cancelling, metal speakers & new innovative iPod accessories.
  • Ulead Systems showed the new Ulead® DVD MovieFactoryTM 4, which is the easiest and quickest way to turn any video and photos into high quality DVD and VCD movies.
  • TRS is an amalgamation of last year's Mobilexpo, Entertainment Retail Show and Computer Retail Show - rebranded and relaunched for 2005.

"We are delighted with the success of TRS" comments Liz Wood, Portfolio Director for TRS. "The re-branding of the event has worked well and the show enjoyed a steady stream of visitors throughout the two days. Some stands were so busy that exhibitors had to call in extra staff to assist! We now look forward to planning next year's event, to ensure that it is even bigger and better!"

TRS also enjoyed two busy days on the show floor with exhibitors commenting on the quality of leads and business generated from the event:

"Year after year the computer trade show consistently delivers the relevant people, with a constantly changing market the addition of the Technology Retailer Show perfectly reflected the changing market."

Michael Breeze, Interactive Ideas

"A superb show for us - for awareness of our products there is no better show in the UK, we will be back next year!"

Darren Jacob, Secure IT

"We at Koch Media were impressed that TRS 2005 proved to be an excellent opportunity for us to communicate our catalogue of top brands to an excellent level of visitors in an arena that was both professional and energising."

Jon Bailey, Koch Media

TRS was co-located with the Computer Trade Show, Comms Channel Expo and launch event Office Technology Expo - forming part of the UK's largest channel event.
