Swords and Sandals III: Solo Ultratus

Casual gladiatorial combat game featuring guitar-wielding robots and gun-slinging skeletons.

3RD sense Australia Pty Ltd - Official Release

Release date: 1/10/2008

Swords and Sandals III launches this week on Fizzy.com. The third game in the popular series is far and away the biggest and the most ambitious yet, weighing in at some 12 months in development. The single player campaign, Solo Ultratus is out now, with a multiplayer version coming along in about a month.

In this incarnation of the game you can manage the careers of up to 10 gladiators. Duelling through seven brutal arenas, gladiators face a horde of new opponents including guitar wielding robots and gun slinging skeletons. Ten shops selling thousands of weapons and armour sets mean you can customise your gladiator just how you like, and with over 50 spells to cast, the fireworks are just beginning.

So gladiator, it is time once again to sharpen your sword and lace up your sandals. You have 24 Arena Champions to defeat before you can say you will be crowned the Ultimate Gladiator. Let the fun begin!

Despite the depth of the game, Swords and Sandals III retains its ‘Casual’ status by being quick to pick up yet difficult to master. An adventure played out in in bite-sized pieces, it is the Role Playing Game for the rest of us.

Swords and Sandals 1 and 2, and the spin-off Crusader game have been played more than 100 million times over the last 2 years and the series is sure to grow even further following this release.

“We’ve had hundreds of players champing at the bit for this one,” explains Colin Cardwell, CEO of 3RD sense, “the demo was played more than 12000 times in the first half hour after launch!”

He goes on to say, “Oliver Joyce, the lead designer on this game and the series, really has outdone himself - it’s possibly one of the most ambitious Flash games projects yet seen.”
