Swarm

"Long lost" developer diaries from Hothead Games discovered.

Glendale, CA -- December 16, 2010-These are NOT your Dad's developer diaries!  After a short but relentless search UTV Ignition has discovered these original, priceless, long lost, secret diaries on the Hothead Games website.  These are the mythical diaries that Hothead Games created in recent months to chronicle how they make great games.

Hothead lifts its proverbial skirt to provide a "behind the scenes"

look at what goes on in the twisted minds of the creators of Swarm, the upcoming ultra addictive action game slated to release on PlayStation® Network and XboxT LIVE Arcade.  UTV Ignition and Hothead will launch the fast-paced action platformer in early 2011.

Whether it's deconstructing what it takes to make games funny, viewing the development process through the lens of the 1950s propaganda film, or observing various team members in their "natural habitat," these developer diaries shine a light on the mysterious and haunting world of game development. Some say they're pure creative genius. Others say they probe the unexplored vistas of interactive entertainment. Many simply call them a desperate cry for help.

The diaries can be found on YouTube:

Swarm gives players control of 50 utterly fearless Swarmites and drives them through an intense and often suicidal battle of survival. Swarm is the first game to feature mass character control, where players move all the Swarmites at once.  Steer the flock of pudgy, clueless little blue morons through the game and they naturally flock and flow around obstacles.  Creatively combine swarm moves to work your way through a relentlessly dangerous and hilariously brutal environment.

Compete against friends to get the high score by deftly moving through the world and cleverly solving puzzles the game throws your way.

More information about Swarm is available at www.swarmites.com.  The game is not yet rated by the ESRB.
