FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN DIEGO, CA - May 25, 2010 - Independent videogame developer, Psyonix, Inc. announced today that their flagship, self-published title, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (SARPBC) will be receiving a limited time, 50% price cut across supported NTSC territories in celebration of the forthcoming 2010 World Cup. The sale will run May 25, 2010 through June 15, 2010 and is available for download on the PlayStation®Network on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.
“We are constantly looking for new opportunities that allow us to expand our community and user-base,” said David Bruno, Associate Producer for Psyonix. “And what better way to gear up for the World Cup, than to jump in the Battle-Car arena to make some new friends from neighboring countries, and engage in some friendly competition?”
In addition to twenty-five single-player mini-games, which also serve as a platform for new users to learn the ins and outs of the game, SARPBC shipped with three Battle-Car arenas and two skins for each of the seven different Battle-Cars. Over the last 18 months, Psyonix has doubled the initial content by delivering constant gameplay-enhancing updates and free downloadable content in the form of 3 new arenas and 14 additional battle-car skins.
“We have found that it’s a win-win situation for us and especially for gamers in particular, to temporarily reduce the price on Battle-Cars,” said Dave Hagewood, Director of Development for Psyonix. “By doing so, we are inviting new players to become a part of a growing community, composed of some of the best gamers who are always looking for a challenge.”
