Last year leading educational games publisher Tivola introduced a new genre to Nintendo’s family Wii console. The edutainment series “Successfully Learning…” was the first educational video game for the Wii. “Successfully Learning Mathematics” now premieres on the European WiiWare channel. This fun new game lets parents give their kids a bit of extra help learning math, and is specially designed for different primary school grades. The series debuts with a version tailored to 1st grade students, with 2nd to 4th grade versions to be released in the upcoming weeks. Students use the Wii Remote Controller to solve math puzzles that reflect their school curriculum, improving their abilities in key areas. The Kids collect stars for each problem solved and attain additional playing time which can then be traded for a bonus game.
Learning math is now easier and more fun than ever before on the Wii! Primary school students can playfully hone their math skills in arithmetic, geometry, weight and length measurements and other areas without the negative aspects of being pressured to succeed. In the WiiWare version of Successfully Learning Mathematics, students choose one from a set of topics included for the purchased school grade and are guided through a range of tasks by Freddy the Friendly Vampire. All tasks are adapted to current school curricula, and the game keeps track of student achievements throughout. Successfully completing tasks rewards students with additional playing time, which can then be traded for an additional bonus game for even more playing fun.
“Successfully Learning Mathematics” Grade 1 is now ready for download in the Wii Shop Channel. School grades 2 through 4 will also be available in the next few weeks.
