Stevie Case appointment

Joins monetization people PlaySpan as VP of sales and business development.

Santa Clara, Calif. – August 27, 2010 – PlaySpan, the global leader in monetization solutions for digital goods, social networks, online games, and videos, today announces the appointment of Stevie Case as VP of Sales and Business Development. In her new position, Case will be responsible for generating new business leads as well as supporting the overall sales team on existing business initiatives and partnerships.

Ms. Case is a well-recognized figure in the game industry and considered a pioneer as one of the first professional female gamers in the world. Case most recently served as the Senior Director of Business Development at LiveGamer and prior to that served as Director of Business Development and Sales at Tira Wireless.

Stevie first gained industry acclaim when she defeated John Romero in a Quake deathmatch. Shortly thereafter, she joined Ion Storm, then went on to co-found Monkeystone Games with Romero and id Software veteran Tom Hall, where she served as CEO.

Stevie has been named by Working Woman Magazine as “20 Women to Watch in Business Under 30,” and has been acknowledged by PC Gamer as one of the “Next Game Gods.”
