Steam gets games recommendation feature

Valve's digital distribution portal offers App Store-like related content

Steam, Valve's PC game download service, has been updated with a recommendations service.

A new page in the Steam client now lists games that the service estimates are of interest to its purported 30 million customers, based on their previous purchasing habits.

Titles suggested and reviewed by friends are also listed, while a 'More Like This' button on each recommendation brings up further options.

'Recommended For You' suggests DLC as well as full games from Steam's 1200-strong roster.

Apple recently launched its App Store for OSX, which includes a similar related software recommendation system.

The new Steam service is available now.
