Stadia lands exclusives from Konami, Harmonix, and more

Bomberman publisher and Rock Band dev join Splash Damage, Uppercut Games, Supermassive, and Bad Dream Games in working on games for Google's streaming service

Stadia Games & Entertainment today announced its latest round of exclusive third-party titles for its on-demand game streaming service, announcing deals for a variety of titles that will be exclusive to the service for at least a little while.

The two projects announced today were Splash Damage's multiplayer arena shooter Outcasters -- billed as "Only on Stadia" -- and Super Bomberman R Online, a new version of Konami's party game featuring a 64-player battle royale mode. Super Bomberman R Online will be a "First on Stadia" title when it launches this fall.

Stadia also announced that it had secured "First on Stadia" exclusivity for One Hand Clapping from Bad Dream Games. The musical puzzle platformer that requires players to sing their way to solutions won the audience choice award at IndieCade 2018, and launched into Early Access on today.

Beyond the new projects, Stadia also announced that it had struck "Only on Stadia" deals with Harmonix Games (Rock Band, Fuser), Uppercut Games (City of Brass, Submerged), and Supermassive Games (Until Dawn, Man of Medan). However, the company didn't specify which projects those deals would cover.

When asked about the difference between "First on Stadia" titles and "Only on Stadia" titles, a representative said, "First on Stadia means that the title is debuting on Stadia but the developer has indicated it will arrive on other platforms. Only on Stadia means the developer has not announced intent to bring the title to other platforms."
