Spiderman TV Games swings in for an October launch

JAKKS Pacific, a leading toy and consumer products company, has announced the launch of its Spider-Man TV Games, due for release in October and featuring five built-in games starring the ever-popular web-slinger.

Following the recent huge success of the JAKKS Pacific Kidz Biz Namco, Disney and Ms Pacman units, Spider-Man TV Games features an instantly recognisable design, with the web-slingers unique markings spanning the base and shaft of the joystick. Designed to resemble the Marvel hero's face, the plastic unit features a hard-wearing throttle-style control stick with a top-mounted thumb button and two additional buttons at its base. As with all TV Games systems, this then plugs directly into any television, allowing instant play with no fuss.

Each of the five games contained within the unit showcases Spider-Man's ability and features a roster of adversaries and friends from the Marvel Universe - including the Green Goblin and his air chariot, the multi-limbed Doc Octopus, and Spider-Man's dark nemesis: Venom. The quintet of games are entitled Streets of the City, Doc Ock Horror!, Green Goblin's Escape, Venom's Vindication and Rogues Gallery, and comprise a mixture of action, platform and combat sequences, each of which call Spider-Man's many swinging, webbing, combat and acrobatic abilities into play.

As such, Streets of the City sees Spider-Man swinging his way through the city streets and webbing a series of assailants, while Green Goblin's Escape demands accuracy and timing from the player as they attempt to stop the evil plans of the fast-moving villain. Each game is extremely easy to get to grips with, yet contain a vast challenge to ensure longevity.

The Spider-Man TV Games system will be released in October, priced £24.99.
