SpecialEffect's GameBlast raises £120K

"Everyone who contributed will make a massive difference"

SpecialEffect's GameBlast charity gaming weekend has raised over £120,000, beating last year's final total by more than £50,000.

"We are genuinely blown away by the huge amount of support that we've had from gamers and the gaming industry all over the world," said CEO Mick Donegan

"Everyone who contributed will make a massive difference, changing the lives of hundreds of people with disabilities who can only watch everyone else experience the many benefits of video games. A huge, heartfelt thank you from all the SpecialEffect team."

The gaming marathon took place in February and over 50 companies supported the event including GAME, Ginx, Twitch, Jagex, SEGA, Bossa, King, Frontier, Team17, Radiant Worlds, Fragers and Insert Coin. Jagex raised an impressive £50,000.

Donations can still be made here and the dates for GameBlast 2016 are February 26 to 28.
