Sony and Bossa sponsor Stand Up for GamesAid

Sony PlayStation and Bossa Studios have both pledged their support to the Stand Up for GamesAid comedy event on April 14.

"Here at PlayStation we've long seen GamesAid as hugely important to the UK video games sector," said Fergal Gara, SVP and MD for Sony Computer Entertainment UK and Ireland.

"It is a rallying point for the industry and brings people together to contribute to important and deserving charities - We are delighted to be able to lend our support to Imran Yusuf and Stand Up for GamesAid"

The night of comedy takes place on Monday and will be hosted by Imran Yusuf. The line-up includes Holly Walsh, Jarred Christmas and Eurogamer's Ellie Gibson. PlayStation has signed up to the role of Premium Event and Exclusive Bar Partner while Bossa Studios is Event Partner.

"GamesAid is such a force for good in the industry - it brings all sorts of diverse gaming professionals together to raise money for seriously important causes," added Robert Lucca, co-Founder and CMO at Bossa Studios.

"At Bossa Studios we felt it was important to be a part of it - and what better night to support than one where people can have a good laugh at the same time as supporting kids and young people's charities?"

"It's important to remember that GamesAid is manned wholly by volunteers with all monies raised ploughed back into the charities for the benefit of the kids and young people that they support," said Yusuf.

"As a result sponsorship is a serious matter on a night of comedy, as it hugely bolsters GamesAid's ability to raise more funds thanks to our April 14 shenanigans."
