Slight pricedrop for Cube in Canada

Nintendo has knocked CA$30 (about €18) off the price of the GameCube in Canada, bringing it down to CA$199.99 (€125) in a move which has prompted speculation that the USA will also shortly see a price adjustment.

Nintendo has knocked CA$30 (about â'¬18) off the price of the GameCube in Canada, bringing it down to CA$199.99 (â'¬125) in a move which has prompted speculation that the USA will also shortly see a price adjustment.

The price drop does not affect the North American bundle deals offered with the console - buyers of the Cube at the new low price point will still be offered their choice of free game from Zelda, Metroid Prime, Mario Party 4 and StarFox Adventures, with the option of choosing a free Game Boy Player instead from later this month.

It's unusual to see Canada getting a price cut seperately from the USA, and Nintendo didn't follow the lead of the other two major platform holders in cutting its prices at E3 last month. It seems likely, then, that a little downward adjustment is in store over the coming months in the US Cube price.
