Motion-controlled games specialist closes first round of funding; Natal, Move and Wii possibilities to be explored.

RAMAT GAN, Israel – June 3, 2010 – Side-kick, a leading independent developer and producer of motion control games for next-generation game consoles and digital living rooms, today announced that it has closed its first round of investment. The funding will enable the company to further establish its production capabilities and explore additional co-productions for its portfolio of natural user interface and gesture based titles. The round was lead by Wekix and Kima Ventures and included private investors.

“We now have strategic investors on board and the necessary funding to develop and co-invest in the creation and development of sought after, leading edge productions for the soon to be released platforms that use motion based interfaces such as Microsoft's Project Natal, Sony's Move and Nintendo’s Wii,” said Guy Bendov, CEO of Side-kick. “The Wekix team brings years of experience in content production and the management of digital media. Kima Ventures brings its strategic network in Europe and the Internet. Our investors bring additional access to the market and partnership opportunities to Side-kick.”

"Side-kick offers a unique opportunity to invest in a team that is very experienced with a technology that is set to revolutionize the market," said Shay Hasson, managing partner, Wekix. “We believe this gives Side-kick an advantage in that they can utilize the new interfaces to create great content while other studios are behind in the learning curve.”

Side-kick will be showing titles currently in development at E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, in Los Angeles June 15th-17th.
