Sid Meier, Jeff Briggs, and Soren Johnson the Sid Meier's Civilization IV designer from Firaxis Games are set to appear on GameSHOUT Radio for a 1-hour GameSHOUT Roundtable Special broadcast Live at 9:00PM EST on Wednesday September 21st.
GameSHOUT Radio will be hosting a special GameSHOUT Roundtable program at 9:00PM SET on Wednesday September 21st, featuring the creator of the Civilization franchise, Sid Meier, Firaxis Games Founder, President and CEO, Jeff Briggs, and Soren Johnson, the designer of Sid Meier's Civilization IV. The topic of discussion of course will be the upcoming release of the much anticipated game, Sid Meier's Civilization IV. Further discussion will include a history of video gaming according to Sid Meier. Caller comments and questions will also be taken allowing the Fireaxis team to get more in touch with gamers.
A game of remarkable depth, Sid Meier's Civilization IV spans the entirety of human history, from the Stone Age to the space age. At the start you choose the nation you want to lead. At first, your people are primitive stone-age villagers and its your job to guide their development and research technologies to drive their advancement. They begin by discovering more primitive technologies such as sailing, archery, mysticism, and mining; eventually - if they survive - you will lead your people to the modern era and beyond, becoming the greatest ruler in history.
Sid Meier's Civilization IV offers the most fun, addictive and visually exciting Civ experience ever. In addition to faster mid- and late-game AI turns, as well as vastly improved graphics and audio, Sid Meier's Civilization IV offers greater control over your civilization's government and religions, while at the same time de-emphasizing the less fun portions of the earlier games (cleaning up pollution, for example). Further, Sid Meier's Civilization IV has been designed from the ground-up to deliver fantastic multiplayer gaming options, as well as easy modding - allowing you to create new units, game maps, scenarios, and even entire new civilizations! And to top it all off, this game is actually ahead of schedule and will now be released in October of 2005.
Some of the most recent Firaxis games include not only the Civilization series but Sid Meier's Pirates! (PC and Xbox), which was a big hit with the GameSHOUT review staff earning a whopping score of 9 out of 10. Other titles include Sid Meier's Civilization III: Conquests, Sim Golf, Alpha Centauri, Antietam Gettysburg! and many more. This show is sure to be an interesting and exciting opportunity for the gamer to meet the game master.
