Setanta signs for PES marketing campaign

In-game ads and events marketing for Konami's football franchise

Sports broadcaster Setanta has signed an in-game ads and marketing partnership with Konami UK.

The deal will see Setanta ads appear in Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, as well as via events, competitions and marketing on PES fansites.

"Setanta is always looking for new ways of reaching our core target audience of sports fans and so this was an obvious partnership for us, given Pro Evolution Soccer’s strength and position in the football games market," commented Ben Carter, online and marketing acquisitions manager for Setanta.

The deal has been arranged by in-game ads firm New Street Media.

"This is a truly symbiotic relationship, where the partnership delivers extra value to both parties’ audiences," added Maryam Bazargan, MD of New Street Media.

"Successful in-game advertising campaigns need to consider the gamer and add value to the gameplay experience and give something back to the gamer."

Pro Evolution Soccer is released in Europe on October 17.
