Sean Igoe appointment

Heading up ad sales across Future's games mags.

17/06/10 – Future- the special-interest media group, has announced the appointment of Sean Igoe as the new Ad Sales Director for its market-leading Games portfolio.

With over 12 years of sales experience at Future under his belt, Sean spent the last five years as Ad Sales Director across the company’s Computing and Sports portfolio. Sean takes over from Poorvi Smith, who leaves the company after five years, to spend more time with her family.

As Ad Sales Director for Future’s Sports portfolio, Sean focused on the development of client relationships and simplifying the sales process across print, digital and events. As a result of the new strategy, advertising spend across the portfolio grew by 14% year-on-year to 2009. Thanks to its growing client roster and enhanced industry reputation, the team were crowned “Sales Team of the Year” at Future’s annual awards ceremony in 2008 and 2009.

In his new role as Ad Sales Director for games, Sean will work closely with senior management, including London Sales Director, Malcolm Stoodley and the recently appointed Group Publisher for Console & Online, Simon Maxwell. Sean’s team will sell advertising and creative solutions across all Future gaming brands. The company’s market-leading Games portfolio now encompasses print, digital and live event brands. The nine-strong commercial team will also be strengthened by the appointment of two new Account Managers.

Sean Igoe, Ad Sales Director of Future’s Games portfolio, said:

“I’m delighted to be joining the team and look forward to strengthening our relationships with the industry. With Future’s unrivalled heritage in games media, our loyal audience of enthusiasts remain integral to the success of any successful gaming launch. It’s an exciting time to be working in the games industry and my first task is to make sure we are working even harder to deliver the most creative commercial solutions available to the industry.”

Simon Maxwell, Group Publisher, Console & Online, added:

“Sean’s commercial experience and sales skills are second to none, so we’re delighted he will lead the team through this exciting period. Our aim is to get closer to the industry and our clients, enabling them to deliver their marketing plans with increased value. We are the only games media company who can deliver access to enthusiasts across print, digital and live events, and this new focus allows the industry to utilise our outlets as simply as possible.”
