SCi drops Terror from next Conflict title

British publisher SCi has announced that the next game in the successful Conflict franchise has been renamed - with Conflict Global Storm being the apparently more appropriate new moniker of Conflict Global Terror.

British publisher SCi has announced that the next game in the successful Conflict franchise has been renamed - with Conflict Global Storm being the apparently more appropriate new moniker of Conflict Global Terror.

The name change, which applies only in the PAL territories - with the Terror remaining intact for release in other regions - is presumably a reaction to the headlines currently being made by Terror in the UK.

However, the game itself veers away from the current political situation, focusing instead on a conflict against a world-spanning group of white supremacist, neo-Nazi extremists.

The title, which is the latest in a series that has sold six million units to date, is being developed by Bath-based studio Pivotal Games, and is due for release on September 30th on PC, Xbox and PS2.
