SCEA re-thinks PSP offering in US

Ratchet & Clank PSP-3000 bundle to be lone platform SKU in the region

Sony Computer Entertainment America has decided to shelve plans to release the previously announced 4GB Memory PSP Entertainment Pack in the US, following "discussions with our retail partners," the company has said.

That will leave consumers with just one choice of PSP bundle in the region - the Ratchet & Clank Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack, which includes the updated PSP-3000.

The statement, made on the PlayStation Blog by director of hardware marketing Jon Koller, cited feedback that retailers have received from their customers as the main reason for the decision.

It also mentioned that the pack will be available in its current format of Mystic Silver, while Piano Black will be added as an option in December. Meanwhile the 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo will be available separately in the US for USD 44.99.
