Sales up 47 per cent for Gameloft

Results show impressive growth for Q3 period

Mobile developer and publisher Gameloft has announced Q3 sales of EUR 16.1 million, a rise of 47 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Sales reached EUR 46.7 million for the first nine months of 2006, with mobile gaming generating 98 per cent of the company's sales during the period.

The sale of downloadable games has increased 85 per cent since the beginning of 2006, accounting for 91 per cent of sales figures.

Business in the North American region amounts to 44 per cent of the company's sales, with Europe accounting for 38 per cent and 18 per cent in the rest of the world.

As well as original content, the company own the rights to make games based on licensed properties such as Deal or no Deal, Desperate Housewives, Lost and The O.C.

Gameloft was recently named the fastest-growing company in Europe by influential publication Business Week.
